DeenBoard ("the App") is a family board for tracking prayers, good deeds, chores, and rewards. Privacy is a core principle: your family's data stays on your device and in your own private iCloud account. We (the developer) do not collect, store, or have access to your data.
All of your family's information — including children's names, points, activities, rewards, challenges, and settings — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. If you are signed in to iCloud, this data is synced across your own devices through Apple's private CloudKit database. This data resides in your personal iCloud account and is not accessible to the developer.
With your permission, the App uses your device's location to show local prayer times and the current weather and city on the family board. To retrieve weather, your approximate coordinates are sent to Open-Meteo, a free third-party weather service, solely to return the local forecast. Prayer times are calculated on your device. Your location is not stored by the App, is not linked to your identity, and is never used for tracking or advertising.
If you choose to use the optional TV Control feature, the App uses Apple's HomeKit to turn off a TV or smart plug that you select when a redeemed screen-time countdown ends. This happens locally through HomeKit on your device. The App does not access or transmit any HomeKit data elsewhere.
DeenBoard is designed to be set up and managed by a parent or guardian, with a parent PIN protecting settings. Any information about children (such as first names and points) is entered by the parent and stays on the family's device and private iCloud. The developer does not collect, receive, or have access to any information about children or adults using the App.
The only external service the App contacts is Open-Meteo, used exclusively to fetch local weather from your coordinates (see "Location" above). The App contains no advertising, no analytics or tracking SDKs, no cookies, and no device fingerprinting. The App does not use any AI service.
You can reset the App's data from within Settings at any time. Deleting the App removes all locally stored data from your device. Data synced to your iCloud can be managed or removed through your device's iCloud settings.
