HalalWise — Terms of Service

By downloading or using HalalWise ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. Description of Service

HalalWise is a food product scanning application that provides halal status assessments for food ingredients. The App scans barcodes and ingredient labels and classifies ingredients as halal, haram, or mushbooh (doubtful) based on available data sources and Islamic dietary principles.

2. Disclaimer — Not a Religious Authority

HalalWise is an informational tool only. The halal classifications provided by the App are based on publicly available ingredient databases, certified brand lists, and AI-assisted analysis. They are not fatwas or religious rulings.

Results should be used as guidance, not as a definitive religious ruling
When in doubt, consult a qualified Islamic scholar or your local halal certification authority
We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or currency of ingredient classifications
Product formulations may change without notice from manufacturers

3. Free Tier and Subscriptions

HalalWise offers 50 free scans. After that, a Pro subscription is required for continued use. Subscriptions are billed through Apple's App Store and are subject to Apple's terms:

Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase
Subscriptions automatically renew unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your App Store account settings
No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
Use the App for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to circumvent subscription or scan limits
Redistribute or resell the App or its data

5. Intellectual Property

The App, its design, code, and content are owned by VertexLab Solutions and are protected by copyright and intellectual property laws.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VertexLab Solutions shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App. This includes, but is not limited to, dietary decisions made based on the App's classifications.

7. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
