PopHood — Privacy Policy

VertexLab Solutions ("we," "us," or "our") built PopHood — Mobile Mechanic Pro ("PopHood," "the App") as a commercial application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our App.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide

• Business Profile: Business name, owner name, phone number, email address, business address, logo, tax rates, labor rates, and payment account usernames (Venmo, Cash App, Zelle).
• Customer Data: Customer names, phone numbers, email addresses, physical addresses, and notes you enter.
• Vehicle Data: Vehicle year, make, model, VIN numbers, license plates, and maintenance history.
• Job Data: Job descriptions, service dates, line items (parts and labor), invoices, photos, payment records, and notes.
• Mileage Data: Trip start/end locations, distances, dates, and business purposes.

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Location Data: With your permission, we collect GPS location to enable mileage tracking and trip logging. Location is only collected when you actively use the mileage tracking feature.
• Camera Data: With your permission, we access the camera for VIN scanning and job photos. Photos are stored locally on your device.
• Microphone Data: With your permission, we access the microphone for voice-to-invoice dictation. Audio is processed on-device using Apple's Speech Recognition framework and is not stored or transmitted.
• Purchase Data: If you subscribe to PopHood Pro, Apple processes your payment. We receive a transaction confirmation but never see your credit card or Apple ID password.

1.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

• We do not collect analytics or tracking data.
• We do not use third-party advertising SDKs.
• We do not sell, share, or rent your personal information to third parties.
• We do not collect data from children under 13.

2. How We Use Your Information

All data you enter is used solely to provide the App's core functionality:

• Managing your mobile mechanic jobs, customers, and vehicles
• Generating invoices and tracking payments
• Logging mileage for tax deduction purposes
• Scanning VINs to auto-populate vehicle information
• Creating voice-dictated invoices
• Exporting data (CSV) for your bookkeeper or tax preparation

3. Data Storage & Security

• Local Storage: All your business data (customers, jobs, invoices, photos, mileage) is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
• iCloud Sync: If you have iCloud enabled, your data may sync across your devices via Apple's iCloud infrastructure. This is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
• No Cloud Servers: We do not operate our own cloud servers. Your data never passes through our systems.
• Encryption: Data at rest is protected by iOS device encryption. Data in transit to iCloud is encrypted by Apple.

4. Data Sharing

We do not share your data with any third parties. The only data transmissions are:

• Apple (iCloud): If iCloud backup/sync is enabled on your device.
• Apple (StoreKit): Subscription purchase verification with Apple's App Store.
• You (Export): When you choose to export CSV files or share PDF invoices, you control who receives them.

5. Your Rights & Choices

• Access & Delete: You can view, edit, or delete any data within the App at any time.
• Location: You can enable or disable location access in iOS Settings at any time.
• Camera & Microphone: You can revoke camera or microphone access in iOS Settings at any time.
• Uninstall: Deleting the App removes all locally stored data from your device.
• Subscription: You can manage or cancel your subscription through your Apple ID settings.

6. In-App Purchases & Subscriptions

PopHood offers an optional Pro subscription:

• Monthly: $7.99/month
• Annual: $49.99/year
• Both plans include a 7-day free trial.
• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscription automatically renews unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage subscriptions in your Apple ID Account Settings.

7. Children's Privacy

PopHood is designed for business professionals and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
