Terms of Use — Settle

Last updated: July 23, 2026 · Provided by Vertex Lab Solutions
Settle is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Using Settle does not create an attorney–client relationship. The information it provides is general and organizational only.

1. What Settle is

Settle helps you organize the administrative work of settling an estate: a step-by-step plan, a document vault, an inventory, an expense ledger, and reports. It is a tool for organization and record-keeping — not legal, tax, or financial advice.

2. Not legal advice; verify deadlines

Estate deadlines and procedures vary by state, county, and situation, and they change over time. The dates and steps Settle shows are general information you must confirm with the probate court or a qualified attorney before relying on them. You are responsible for your decisions as an executor or administrator.

3. Automated document reading

Settle may use automated tools to read text from documents you photograph. Automated reading can make mistakes; you must review and confirm any extracted details before relying on them.

4. Subscriptions

Settle offers auto-renewing subscriptions purchased through the App Store. Payment is charged to your Apple Account, and subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You manage or cancel in your App Store settings. A free trial, where offered, converts to a paid subscription unless cancelled before it ends. Even without an active subscription, you keep read-only access to your data and free export.

5. Acceptable use

Use Settle only for lawful purposes and only for estates you are authorized to administer or assist with. Do not attempt to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service.

6. Disclaimer of warranties

Settle is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the information is complete, current, or error-free.

7. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Vertex Lab Solutions will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for any loss arising from reliance on information in the app. Our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for the subscription in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Governing law & disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State in which Vertex Lab Solutions is established, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. (Confirm the governing-law state and any arbitration clause with counsel before launch.)

9. Changes

We may update these terms as the app evolves and will revise the "last updated" date. Continued use means you accept the updated terms.
